European Commission Says Slovak Rejection of Lending Program is a “Breach of Solidarity”

The Slovakian rejection of the EU loan program is a “breach of solidarity”, according to European Commission Officials on Thursday. Speaking to reporters in Brussels on Thursday, European Commission spokesperson Amadeu Altafaj said the move is a breach of the commitments taken by Slovakia in the ecofin. EU officials have nevertheless promised that Slovakia’s rejection will not endanger the program. The move in theory puts pressure on EUR/USD though clearly that pair is more concerned about other things.
